      Aims & Scope

      Social Networking (SN) is an open access journal. The goal of this journal is to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in all areas of social networking.

      All manuscripts must be prepared in English and are subject to a rigorous and fair peer-review process. Generally, accepted papers will appear online within 3 weeks followed by printed hard copy. The journal publishes original papers including but not limited to the following fields:

    1. · Benefits of participation in and competition among virtual communities
    2. · Case studies and empirical studies, best practices and lessons learned
    3. · Collaborative work in virtual environments
    4. · Community models, platforms, services, and interactions, multi-channel communities
    5. · Community-related business models
    6. · Cross-cultural, political and economic impact of social networking
    7. · Crowdsourcing through communities
    8. · Effectiveness of social networks
    9. · Evolution of and innovation in social networks
    10. · Gaming Communities
    11. · Human computer interfaces, virtual communities, and social networks
    12. · Information dispersion in social networks
    13. · Innovation generation and social networks (e.g. case studies on "wisdom of crowds", "collective intelligence", etc.)
    14. · Methodology in networking
    15. · Motivation of participants in social networks
    16. · Networking and health
    17. · Peer-to-Peer or mobile services for social networks
    18. · Psychological effects of social networking
    19. · Technology in virtual environments and social networks (hardware and software; peer-to-peer networks; platforms; Web services, SOA, and Web 2.0; and Wiki’s and blogs)
    20. · Use of social network websites in investigations
    21. · Use of social networks in the education
    22. · Use of social networks in the science communities
    23. · User-generated content and customer collaboration in social networks

    24. We are also interested in:

      1) Short reports—2-5 page papers where an author can present an idea with theoretical background, but has not yet completed the research needed for a complete paper or an author presents preliminary data;

      2) Short communications—2-5 page papers;

      3) Technical notes—2-5 page papers;

      4) Letters to the Editor;

      5) Reviews (the number of pages is not restricted), Book reviews—Comments and critiques;

      6) Advertisement.
